香港芭蕾舞團於2014年11月成功遠赴美國巡演，假明尼亞波利斯諾斯洛普演藝中心呈獻一連兩場精彩絕倫的《杜蘭朵》演出。並將於2015年2月6至8日假香港文化中心大劇院演出五場，載譽重演這齣劇力萬鈞的芭蕾舞劇。

Returning from Minneapolis, USA following a hugely successful tour with two sensational début performances of Turandot at the prestigious Northrop Auditorium in November 2014, The Hong Kong Ballet will perform this powerful production again, this time for the audiences of Hong Kong from 6th – 8th February 2015 for five performances at the Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

About Turandot

改編自普契尼的同名歌劇，於2003年澳洲編舞家娜泰莉．維亞度身為舞團編舞，將充滿力量、慾望及仇恨的《杜蘭朵》變為震撼視覺神經的芭蕾舞劇。伴以原著音樂，維亞的編舞盡顯香港芭蕾舞團舞蹈員觸動人心的舞蹈；幕幕懾人心魄，讓觀眾與舞蹈員同呼同吸，經歷舞作。娜泰莉．維亞表 示：「《杜蘭朵》探討生命的意義。希望、熱情、死亡、真愛，若我們將這些感受封鎖起來，就不能活得自如。我的心靈會變得冰冷，繼而感到孤獨及抽離，就像杜蘭朵一樣。這故事提醒我們要敞開心扉，勇敢去愛，對未來要抱有希望。」

Adapted from Puccini's opera of the same name, Australian choreographer Natalie Weir has transformed Turandot for the Hong Kong Ballet in 2003, a story of power, lust and revenge, into a visually stunning dramatic dance production. Accompanied by the original music, Weir's choreography exhibits sensational and expressive dancing of The Hong Kong Ballet dancers resulting in a captivating spectacle which intrigues and beguiles audiences. Natalie Weir expressed, “Turandot examines what life is about. Hope, Passion, Death and Love. When we reject these ideas, we cannot function. Our hearts grow cold and we become alone and isolated, like Turandot in the story. This story reminds us to open ourselves to the prospect of falling in love, to feel and be passionate, and to have hope for the future.

冷若冰霜的杜蘭朵公主，有著一顆冰封的心，多年來迴避男人的注視。任何男人要迎娶杜蘭朵公主須先成功解答她出的三 個謎語；倘若失敗，他們將會受死。即使不少男人已被她處決，她的冷酷從沒有令她的傾慕者卻步。卡拉富王子流亡回來，對杜蘭朵像著了魔般一見鍾情。他父親身 邊忠心的女僕柳兒卻只能從遠處深愛著卡拉富。

Turandot is a Princess with a glittering heart of ice who has for many years shunned the attention of men. Any man wishing to wed the Princess must successfully answer the three riddles she sets, and if they fail, they must die. Her coldness does nothing to deter her suitors, even though many before them have been ritually executed. Prince Calaf returns to the city from exile and falls in love with Turandot at first sight. In turn, he is adored from afar by Liu, his father's loyal servant girl.

The complicated emotions aroused by this trio of protagonists inspire a deep reflection on the nature of true love…

在演出開始前，歡迎到大劇院外的大堂聽聽《杜蘭朵》簡短的背景資料。演出裡，配合普契尼悅耳的樂 曲和華麗的舞台及服裝，澳洲編舞家娜泰莉．維亞的改編將為你展現香港芭蕾舞團舞蹈員卓越的芭蕾舞技。講座將簡介普契尼這名作的歷史，由歌劇轉變成舞劇的過 程；以及多個深受歌劇影響的芭蕾舞劇改編作品。講座長約20分鐘，憑《杜蘭朵》門票免費入場。英語主講，輔以廣東話翻譯。

Before the curtain rises, stop by the lobby for a brief insight into the evenings' performance of Turandot. Featuring Giacomo Puccini’s beautiful score along with sophisticated sets and costumes, Natalie Weir's adaptation of Turandot showcases The Hong Kong Ballet dancers' incredible fusion of artistry and technique. Learn more about the history of Puccini's masterpiece and its transformation from opera to dramatic dance along with other significant productions which have been choreographed based on inspirations from operas. The programme is about 20 minutes long. Free admission with Turandot tickets. Conducted in English with Cantonese translation.
